T he examination and quantitation of several immunological interactions occurring in murine glomerulonephritIs rely heavily on the Isolation of glomeruli. Most isolation procedures of glomeruli. as used in other animals, are not suitable for the mouse. Based on a method for separating glomeruli from rabbit kidneys (1), a successful magnetic isolation of glomeruli of mice previously infused with an iron oxide (FeO) suspension was recently reported (2). We modified this isolation procedure, which resulted In a higher yield of glomeruli. reduced the time of purification, and circumvented the cumbersome preparation of the magnetic (FeO) suspension.
